Naturist misconceptions
When people think of Naturism their often confuse it was sex and Swingers clubs. As a newish Naturist of over just one year I can tell you it is as far away from the truth. Naturists are normal people who choose to do everyday things but just without clothes on. It’s no different from what other people do in their leisure time. We are as you could say as a subculture we are not anti-clothes either. We just don’t think clothes are essential to everyday life. Some people only practice being naked while even washing up or while reading a book at home and that is the best way to start. Then you build up your confidence to let other people see you naked. Others only are Naturist on foreign holidays and don’t practice here. There are so many types of ways it can be practised.
Naturism is the perfect…

How do women really feel about nudity?
An interesting read on women nudity and sexuality
The great question that has never been answered, and which I have not yet been able to answer, despite my thirty years of research into the feminine soul, is ‘What does a woman want?’
That, according to Freud’s biographer Ernest Jones[1], was the conclusion that Freud himself had finally come to. Freud couldn’t admit this candidly in his own writing. But Jones feet obliged to report it, even though his biography of Freud is generally regarded as a bit overly complimentary.
Is there very much in social conversation that can be more fraught with peril than for men to speculate about what women do or should “want”? Probably not. However, when it comes to issues of naturism and nudity, it’s a topic that cannot be avoided. In our society nudity is generally regarded as risible, awkward, or uncomfortable, at best ? and scandalous, shameful, embarrassing, or disgusting at…

Becoming a naturist almost one year ago – guest blog GaryS
It has been almost one year since I became a Naturist in 2015. Before this I had a experience of posing voluntarily as a Life Model in 2013 I think it was. What made it slightly awkward was there was a girl there from my Bible Study group. I had to build up some courage to do this. I felt it was inside me that I needed to do this. I had to perform in three different posses. I was glad there was a little electric heater next to my skin even if I did turn red on one side. I had fun doing this for about two hours.
Things went quiet for a while. I hoped I would be put on the rotation list to pose but nothing happened. Then I had to try and do something. By now it was January 2015, I decided to join British Naturism. Now I felt I will make some progress now.
I got my membership and went onto the forum to introduce myself. Which I did and I am glad somebody there who normally doesn’t want to be the main centre of attention helped me. He did showed me around a few landed clubs as a guest. I also went to a British Naturism event held a WaterWorld which is an indoor water park. The weather in the UK is awful most of the time. There it felt like my ‘Rite of Passage’ being naked with another 270 people and I never felt so happy and normal. It also helped me to get rid of a lot of baggage from my Theology Degree too.
After this I never felt so happy and content with my body.

Why Aren’t There More Women In Nudism / Naturism Today?
Why Does Naturism Have a Lady Problem
Sometimes the divide is quite extreme, and sometimes it’s more reasonable. But regardless of the situation, as a whole, the uneven ratio is still noticeable. The question is: why?
For those who may not have experienced social nudism, I know what many of you must be thinking: “It’s all heterosexual men who just want to see hot naked women!” But, from my many experiences, this is generally NOT the case.
Of course there ARE some men who seek it out for that reason. Most of them can be spotted with relative ease at public nude beaches, but they do make up such a minute and inconsequential fraction of the general nudie population

Naked Run 13: South Fuerteventura
Playas de Jandía
South Fuerteventura
February 2016
After raving about the idyllic qualities of the Canary Islands for naked running in my blog posts Fuerteventura Beach, Fuerteventura Dunes and Gran Canaria (all September 2015), it was completely natural that I return to the temperate volcanic islands of the Atlantic.
The climate there – I still maintain – is nearly ideal for naked running: year-round daytime highs in the 20c – 30c range, low humidity, warm-ish water, blue skies… perfect!
Well, that was the belief and the intention!
Mother nature, however, had other plans.
My second naked running visit to the Canaries coincided exactly with an unusual, intense, cold and rainy winter storm. The opposite of ideal naked running conditions for me!
The first day of the short 3-day visit saw all-day downpours, perpetual dark clouds, frigid temperatures peaking at 12c and wind gusts of up to 50k per…

NAKED WEEK at Denison University
My introduction to Naked Week has thus far been mostly in the form of rumors and myths: a long-standing tradition of students appearing en masse, in public, and naked all week long. This is only my second semester teaching at Denison, and my first experience witnessing this spectacle. Beforehand, I heard several different accounts of the significance of this event. For some, it is a festival of body-positivity, breaking with social conventions in order to affirm the inherent worth and beauty of bodies. For others, it’s been described as another excuse to party or to get attention. I heard one person say that it inspires them that people are so brave; another said that it just makes them uncomfortable. To be sure, the motivations and intentions of Naked Week and today’s opening ceremonies are plural, shifting, at times communal, at times individual, and likely sometimes contradictory. But as an artist and a scholar of performing arts, a reality with which I am intimately aware is that the effects of any performance, any actions, will always exceed any motivations and intentions. The potential effects of any performance will remain in part unpredictable, and will vary more than anyone can control. Rather than speculate about the intentions or motivations of those who ran naked in front of their university community today, I want to take a moment to consider some of the possible effects of that action.

Plans for Australian cloths optional resort garners praise
Positive response to push for Burrum Heads nudist resort
Herb Taylor wants to purchase a secluded property on the Burrum River to start a resort for people to get their gear off.
Australian Naturist Federation magazine editor Stuart Whelan said it would boost European tourists to the Fraser Coast.
The Chronicle’s readers agreed.
“These people will only be naked in the resort, it’s not like they will be walking down the street,” reader Catherine Cooke wrote on Facebook.
Rebekka Charles said the resort was not likely to bother anyone.

Open invite clothing optional moonlight swim
Thousands expected at ‘nude’ harbour beach nightswim to celebrate the full moon
A ‘nude’ ocean swim to celebrate the full moon has disappeared off Facebook after the organiser appeared to become overwhelmed by the number of attendees.
The swim was advertised as a way to ‘release stagnant energy,’ with ‘clothing optional’ and more than 2,400 people claimed they were interested in attending the event that was organised to take place after sundown on Tuesday at Red Leaf beach in Sydney’s east.

Creating a consent culture
Twitter poll says more students sending nude pics
DN Twitter poll shows half of respondents have shared nude photos
Sex has always been a common part of society. But with the increasing amount of technology, it’s increasingly easier to sext — but it can have consequences.
Richard Petts, an associate professor of sociology, said sexting is a social issue that is not surprising among teens and young adults.
“Essentially, this is something that people get swept up and participate in without considering the consequences,” he said.
That’s what happened recently at a high school in Cañon, Colorado. In early November, hundreds of nude photographs were found in the possession of students.
About half of the Colorado high school was involved in the production and sharing of the nude photographs. Similarly, a Twitter poll the Daily News conducted of its followers showed roughly half of those who answered have sent or shared nude photos.

Security probably would have skipped this pat-down
Naked Man Stands Out At Airport Check-In
People at the Nashville International Airport got an eyeful Sunday when a man wearing nothing more than his birthday suit stepped into line.
The extremely light traveler was photographed standing in American Airlines’ priority check-in line by a fellow traveler, who said he thought the man’s lack of attire was a protest against security measures.
“I walked up to him and said ‘You’re amazing.’ He replied, ‘Thanks.’ Then they came for him,” Tod Brilliant wrote on Facebook, where he also shared his, ahem, unedited snaps. (The Huffington Post blurred the images a bit here.)

Tweeting your blocks what’s the point?
# Account Blockers, You’re blocking up my timeline!
Twitter in particular seems to be afflicted by this recent phenomenon. Twitter is a broadcast medium with tremendous possibility to communicate with people whom naturism would have great difficulty reaching otherwise. Does filling their timelines with pompous comparisons between naturist and pornographic websites encourage them to join organised naturism, I think not, they are more likely to unfollow the naturist account!
The NatCorn account does not knowingly follow pornography, if I find that it is, I unfollow but why should I worry about who follows the account? There are no pornographic photographs on the website or tweeted on the account so I suspect that anyone following NatCorn for that reason will not do so for long. They will soon become bored of sorting through our tweets looking for what they seek

The Right to Bare Breasts
Feminism. It is a word that is so important, yet has become so taboo in the Western Culture. It is a term that is equated with man-hater, or with a woman who wants power and control over men. It re…
Today, in the year 2015, it is illegal for a woman to be topless in 35 states, and this includes breastfeeding. I would say that America is still pretty far behind if this is what is happening. A woman’s body is censored because of the ideas that this culture has promoted about them, and it is time for a change. A woman should feel comfortable breastfeeding her child in all public places (or at least most of them), not just in ones that say, “breastfeeding welcome here.” A woman’s body should not be constantly put on display everywhere except for on the actual human person, and a woman should feel comfortable in her own body, no matter what it is, without feeling ashamed because it might not be sexual enough for this western culture.

The rules of going naked in public
The unspoken rules of going naked in public
If there’s one thing that Emma James really hates, it’s when she’s forced to put clothes on in order to leave the house.
Because for her — and thousands of others around the globe — being naked in public is a freeing and natural experience and one that should be totally without shame.
In fact the devoted naturist from Buckinghamshire, UK, tries to do everything possible in the nude, from swimming to playing volleyball, modelling and even theatre performances.
The 53-year-old is so passionate about the benefits of her lifestyle that she started the website Socks Off in order to encourage other more reluctant people to take the plunge and get out and about while in the buff.
Here she tells news.com.au about the unspoken rules of being a naturist and reveals her most memorable moments so far..

Slow movement on nude beaches in Queensland
# Queensland Government still stalling on nude beaches: submission
The Queensland Government is stalling a $40 million-a-year tourist market by frustrating simple amendments to let local councils rule on nude beaches, a submission to state parliament says.
Queensland is the only state in Australia which does not recognise nude bathing and is ignoring the growth in European backpackers who are able to sunbathe naked at home, it says.

I LOVE TO BE NAKED
Excellent poem on clothes free life
I love to be naked
Where nobody cares
About my fashion
Or who cut my hair.
I love being where
Many nudists are at.
They don’t call me names
Like Littledick and Fats.
I enjoy being out there
In the nature of life
Without any kind of
Negative social strife.
Nudists seem to accept
What the other person is
With a face full of scowls
Or some kind of quiz.
And aging for nudists
Is not a thing of shame.
Outside we grow different
But inside we’re the same.
We are still the people
Who enjoy living free.
And often that means
I don’t want clothes on me.
So, I will get naked often,
Really, every chance I get
And it might help you to
Accept that and not forget
That we were born naked;
Clothes may not be needed.
So maybe we can rethink
The rules we’ve always heeded?
