Man spotted riding his bike naked along a highway is a naturalist fighting a $200 fine in court for the right to cycle in his G-string

Naturist Nick Lowe got a few more stares than he bargained for as he rode between Havelock and Blenheim, wearing only a helmet, shoes and a leopard-print thong, handmade by his wife,Stuff.co.nz reported.
Resident Christopher Lane said he and his children had attended the Muddy Buddy, a run around a muddy river mouth or estuary, for a family fun day in small town Havelock.
One the drive home, we passed a cyclist and it was just as we passed him we spotted he had hardly any clothes on!’

Florida Forest Service crews are burning about six acres of palmetto shrub and sand pine at the Sunnier Palms Nudist Park at 8800 Okeechobee Road just west of Fort Pierce, according to officials.

The prescribed burn is the result of state wildland firefighters identifying large parcels of unmanaged land that pose a brush fire risk to communities.

What People Who Are Naked Have To Know

To be naked is to make a choice. The choice is to not wear clothes. To be naked is be vulnerable. A person who is naked is, implicitly, saying “See me. All of me.” Of course, just by being naked a person isn’t revealing everything about who they are. A person is more than their body. But a person who is naked is more vulnerable physically and, I would say, more vulnerable emotionally, than a person who is clothed.Vulnerable physically: A person’s entire body is exposed. Including their sensitive reproductive organs/orifices.Vulnerable emotionally: For example: A person who is naked wonders “Are people seeing me? Or are people only seeing my penis/vagina/abs/legs/waist/biceps

Questions from a newbie naturist

Joining the clothes free community has been overwhelming, but in a good way. I’ve been welcomed with open arms and words of encouragement. With that being said, I have so many questions.

  1. imageFor those of you who are single, how do you date living a clothes free life? How do you even bring that up in a conversation with someone you are interested in dating? What if they aren’t down with it? What if they want you to stop posting nude photos?
  2. If you live with your parents, and obviously this is for the younger crowd, how do you go about telling them you want to be clothes free outside of your room? For instance, living with parents, and even though she birthed me, my mother can weirded out when I walk around in a tank top and boy shorts.
  3. If you plan to have children – I don’t, but I’m interested to know – how will you raise them? At home they don’t wear clothes and at school they do? Will you live in a clothes free community? Will you homeschool them?
  4. For those who have been clothes free for a while, how did you go about being clothes free for the first time in public? Cruise? Resort? Meet up? What was the criteria of the setting that you would feel the most comfortable? I ask because I’m having a hard time finding communities that are not 90% older males.
  5. How do you explain to your friends that you live clothes free? How do you handle it when they look at you weird or don’t accept it?
  6. Is there anything else I should know before being clothes free in public? Any last words of advice, suggestions, things to be concerned about? Any safety tips?

Thanks in advance for those who respond!

Teacher forced to resign after student allegedly steals nude photos from her phone

Leigh Anne Arthur used to teach mechatronics — mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and computer programming — at the Union County High Schools Career and Technical Center in Union, South Carolina.

However, as she told WYFF-TV, she left her phone on her desk while she went to patrol the halls for five minutes.

While she was out, she says, one of her students looked through her unlocked phone and “took pictures of my phone and sent them from his phone.”

The photos in question happened to have been created for her husband as a Valentine’s Day gift. They also happened to show her partially unclothed.

women’s wednesdays: hashtag…where are we?

$

Over the past month or so, conversation around women’s participation in the clothes free community has risen to the top of the discussion plate across various platforms. These discussions prompted clothesfreelife.com to establish Women on Wednesday, a weekly endeavor to contribute to the conversation around women and clothes free life. Each week, we will look at women’s (lack of) participation in clothes freedom and topfreedom around the world and consider the issue from a number of perspectives.

Photo 01-03-2016 13 31 27To kick things off, I reflect on some things that came up for me after reading the black history month series “Naturism, nudism and clothes free living: African Americans and the clothes free community,” which was written by Earl D, the Founder, Curator and Editor-in-Chief of clothesfreelife.com. The final installment of the series, published this past Monday, left me thinking about trends I have observed primarily on Instagram with regards to black women and nudity.

Last year, I had the opportunity to visit four outdoor social venues and play clothes free. At each of these places, I found myself to be one of few black women in attendance, although the visit to clothing optional Gunnison Beach revealed a wide range of people from various backgrounds in higher numbers. Although the small number of black attendees at these venues did not make me feel much differently than I normally do in everyday life (I’m usually one of a small handful of blacks), I did make note of it. I have also observed that there are few black contributors on various online platforms as well, particularly females.

feeling-like-a-truly-radiant-warrior_16955193187_oInterestingly enough, though, there are some initiatives on Instagram around the naked body in which black women seem to participate. I have observed a number of black women making a kind of return to just being in their body and connecting with the inner essence of who they are. In these images, black women often portray themselves clothes free with paired with thought-provoking and soulful comments. The thing is, these posts are not tied to naturism, nudism or clothes free life labels. Rather, these images are placed in conversations around freedom, reclaiming the body for oneself (as opposed to being judged, consumed and managed by others), returning to nature / being “natural”, reconnecting with earth, tapping into an inner essence of being queens and creators, reclaiming and expressing one’s divine power, stopping rape / rape culture, self love and so forth. Such posts often carry these kinds of hashtags:

  • #SelfLove
  • #Free
  • #FeminineMagic
  • #EmbraceYourNakedness
  • #Natural
  • #Wombman
  • #BlackWomanIsNature
  • #CreatingConsentCulture
  • #BodyPositive
  • #EffYourBeautyStandards
  • #FeminineEnergy
  • #BlackGirlMagic

Some of the women participating in these conversations on their public Instagram profiles are:

One might notice that not all of these women’s pages are exclusively about nakedness or clothes freedom. In some posts, they are wearing clothes while in other posts, they are without clothing. Rather than engaging the naked body in an all-or-nothing venture, it is woven into the tapestry of their lives, outtakes as individual breaths of fresh air or steps to rediscovering self and freedom. It seems that they are reconnecting with the possibility of being without clothing at all in non sexual ways, little by little, here and there…a process of self discovery and an unfolding expression of personal power.

This is showing me that, although the term “naturism” and the expression of social nudity that we often use might be foreign to black women, non sexual nudity might not actually be too distant. It’s just that the concept is wrapped in a whole other host of discussions and movements that speak to individual power and independence as well as women connecting with each other in sisterhood. The conversations are about nakedness as a way to take back what was stolen (historically and currently, on a broad scale and in individual circumstances); feel beautiful from the inside out; reconnect with earth and nature; be healthy; feel whole again and wholesome; feel valuable; and feel powerful in social, economic and political contexts that normally do not afford these feelings. Of course, much of this is actually is part of the philosophy of naturism. It’s just that, for some of us, it’s not about pétanque at a private resort far away. It’s about returning to a home that, perhaps, we’d never had, and doing so one step at a time.

Photo 01-03-2016 13 37 04Looking out, this could be a consideration for women from any background. One thing that seems to be very important to any of the women you find through those hashtags is the emphasis on individual freedom / independence (“This is just for me”) combined with a feeling of community (“and she is doing this, too, and we can support each other”). In other words, there is this dynamic of individual + sisterhood. Speaking from my personal experience, that resonates as critical for me, too. I have always wanted to cultivate my clothes freedom as my own organic way of being. At the same time, I want to know that there is a community of sisters out there for conversation, connection and support.

We might not find many women under #Naturism, but we might see more under #SelfLove and other labels concerning specific issues. We might be found without a hashtag at all, but through one-on-one chats of, “Haha, yeah, me, too. When I’m working from home, I never put pants on. I totally work naked.” That might be the door through which some walk into clothes free life. And some might not be drawn to a far away resort’s naked barbecue, but they might consider a “Girls’ Night In…and Free” hosted at someone’s home or at a place where the event is led by a woman. The journey to clothes freedom for some might be slow, step by step, peeling each layer through these various hashtags, until it is fully embodied authentically.

Stop flashing your bits around: Why I have no sympathy for Eden Park

He says one of the guards punched him several times, and so he’s laid a complaint.

Guy Ngata, the Eden Park chief executive said they’re investigating because while they don’t tolerate streaking, they don’t condone the mistreatment of people either.

Ngata is a better person then me. I wouldn’t be quite so sympathetic. I don’t understand the streaker mentality and never have. Why would you get naked and interrupt a sports game?

The disadvantage of nude exercising

Not only is the stuff I wear there quickly too warm and wet (which in turn makes it smelly), it’s also restrictive. Sports clothes up, down, left or right, they’re clothes, and clothes are by default limiting movement.

Doing exercises naked is much better and feels better. Nothing pulls and yanks, nothing hinders you in any way.

Nude arrest record ‘a bit bare-faced’

Dr McGovern said police have been warned they could be breaching anti-discrimination laws and are “respectfully requested to refrain from further sexually discriminatory arrests”.

“In particular, the Sex Party has asked for police assurance that Alexandria Bay and the Nude Olympics will not be targeted,” Dr McGovern said.

An ASP suggested amendment would give local councils the power to exempt an area from the “wilful exposure” provisions of the Summary Offences Act. A Queensland Police spokeswoman refuted the discrimination claims, saying officers made unbiased decisions based on the act’s definition of wilful exposure.

Leaping into the chill to express top freedom

The Outdoor Co-ed Topless Pulp Fiction Appreciation Society

IMG_0543It takes a bold woman to go topless in a public park, even in New York City, where it’s been legal for a quarter of a century, and even on a sunny summer day when the temperature is, say, 80 or 90 degrees. It takes a bolder woman still to do it on February 29, when the mercury barely noses into 60-degree territory. But how often do we get a chance to go out on February 29? Once every four years at most — and since our merry band has only been meeting since the summer of 2011, this is only our second opportunity ever, and our last until 2020! And it was almost 60 degrees, so…

So: a couple of the hardiest among us girded themselves to brave the winds off the Hudson and headed to a favorite green spot near Chelsea Market for the quadrennial opportunity to say “Happy Leap Day!”

Blog woods A wild Ginger in her natural habitat, the pine forests of Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. Rumors of such creatures have circulated in local folklore for centuries.

Quick recap: Last summer, September 2015, a group of women went peacefully bare-chested on Gilford town beach in New Hampshire.  They had already had many peaceful bare-chested outings over the summer at other New Hampshire beaches and parks, as groups and as individuals, but on this day, after receiving complaints, police issued citations to two women in the group.  Both women asked to be cited.  They took their citations to court in December 2015 and in January 2016 4th Circuit Court, Laconia Division Judge Jim Carroll said that since it is not illegal in the state criminal code for a woman to be bare-chested Gilford’s ordinance was unenforceable.

In reaction, a group of state representatives from the lakes region introduced House Bill 1525…

Nudist Clubhouse offline due to security compromise?

The venerable nudist web site has been offline for several weeks now with only this message greeting visitors to the site.

 WEBSITE UNAVAILABLE TODAY

Due to technical difficulties, our website is currently down.

Please try back in a few days. We are working to resolve the issue, and to keep your data safe.

A long nudist/naturist who I believe is a member of the site has tweeted he has received an extortion email from a group that hacked a web site and wants money to secure his data and personal information. There is no indication at this time that the sites are the same. Having been a member on Nudist Club House I have been concerned in the past that the site was using outdated software that might be vulnerable to hacking. No communication has been issued by Nudist Club House as to the nature of the problem keeping its users data safe.

This raises again the issue of security and privacy in a world of online communication. Naturist site need to work hard to keep software up to date and be vigilant about addressing security alerts that arise.

Members of Nudist Club House are encouraged to comment and share any insights into the problem.

Residents, swimmers clash over ‘clothing optional’ beach

Polo Beach in Mokuleia has long been known as a “clothing optional” beach, a fact that angers area homeowners.

Denise Kuehu and other residents say the nudity has gotten out of hand, and that public decency laws should be enforced to keep beachgoers clothed.

“It’s been going on for so long that we’re basically getting tired that we don’t have anybody from the government or the state helping us out on this,” she said.

But Polo Beach regulars like RoAnne Gatt say they’re not bothering anyone, and they want to officially designate the beach as a nude sunbathing site.

“If there are families who do walk past, we do put on something to hide our genitals,” she said. “We are respectful of families who do stroll across the beach.”

Richard Spacer, of the Naturist Action Committee, is behind the push to make Polo Beach clothing optional
